As a faith, not-for-profit organization, we’re deeply committed to the well-being of all our residents and their families. We do this by always providing:
Building Christian communities that promote independence, wellness and affordable living for older adults.
Our actions and conduct will reflect biblical standards for morality, ethics and ministry leadership
All our communities partner with local community organizations to provide social interactions that are valuable for maintaining connections and health. Our creative partnerships are essential—helping residents get involved and remain an important part of their communities.
We keep up with the latest innovations and technologies. Our residents enjoy the best care and environment possible.
A relational approach
We are communities of compassion, and our focus goes beyond basic care. In the course of everyday life, our staff forms endearing relationships with our residents by honoring and nurturing each of them.
Valuing the individual
Regardless of the resident’s need, all receive the same compassionate care because we deeply believe that every person is equally valued by God.
With a mission to honor God by providing a continuum of excellent care and support services for older adults, our services are driven by three guiding principles:
We uphold Christian values and proactively meet the continuing needs of older adults from every background in a safe, secure and caring environment.
Keeping the Promise
Believing that God’s promise of abundant life extends to everyone, we demonstrate love, compassion and hope at every opportunity.
Meeting Your Needs
With a focus on responsive and compassionate care, we are continuously improving to ensure we always meet your needs and trust.
We’ve changed our name from “Christian Homes” to “Christian Horizons.” Why? There are two reasons:
We want our name to embody our expanding vision as we look confidently to the future of faith-based senior living—where every older adult can live in dignity, realize his or her potential and thrive.
Secondly, our new name reflects our growth since beginning as a single, community-supported nursing home in 1965. As expectations have changed, we have evolved. With 13 communities across Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana, we provide an extensive range of senior living and care options: independent and assisted living, long-term care, short-term rehabilitation, memory care, home care, wellness programs and hospice care.
Though our name has changed, our commitment— to our Christian faith and values, and to our residents and their families—remains as strong as it was since we first began over 50 years ago.
