Hospice is not a reason to give up hope, but an opportunity to reclaim the spirit of life, to reminiscence, to laugh, to reunite, to love. Hospice is probably one of the most difficult decisions you will have to make for yourself or your loved one. It doesn't mean that you are giving up, hospice means being physically comfortable, at peace, surrounded by your loved ones doing the things that bring the most joy and fulfillment.
COVID-19 vaccination is one of the strongest, safest and most effective tools we have to fight this pandemic together. With stringent infection prevention and control practices and mandatory COVID-19 testing in place, Safe Haven care associates, patients and their families can be confident that we are doing everything we can to ensure care and services are provided in a safe environment. Beginning, November 15 a COVID-19 and Flu vaccination will be expected for all Safe Haven associates. This policy update is yet another important step in ensuring continued care and support to patients and their loved ones.
Do you know that when we experience loss, there is both grief and mourning? These terms may be used interchangeably, but they involve different processes for healing. Grief is what you feel after a loss and mourning is what you do to express your grief. Each month on the third Tuesday at 10:30 AM, Safe Haven Hospice hosts a virtual grief support group - a COVID friendly way to gather in fellowship with others experiencing loss.
